Solutions to the problems of theology
Oh, Thou who burn'st in Heart for those who burn
In Hell, whose fires thyself shall feed in turn;
How long be crying, “Mercy on them, God!”
Why, who art Thou to teach, and He to learn? [1] [2]
- The Rubáiyát, Omar Khayyám

Facts are, values should. Thus spoke Hume.
I am, and I will to breathe life into my shoulds. I am Human.
I want animals to be happy.
I just had a burger.
Possible, not beyond.
God doesn’t like evil.
They’re squabbling over His names, and a child just passed
in the Promised Land.
Alas, I have blasphemed.
Not in implying God let evil happen, no even before that-
I transmuted God to Man.
It is not my place to comment on His preferences.
What is God?
The totality of all that is good.
Why is there evil?
Because I eat cows when I don’t want them to die,
because I scream at my lover when I want to cry,
because I force a smile and swallow the bile.
Humans are misaligned.
Our misalignment, in its totality, is evil.
Evil is hopelessly boring, banal.
Evil is man’s unwanted bastard child.
Evil is the absence of God.
The Maker does not play games.
The Maker is not an agent in the game.
When aligned with Her intent, we summon good.
The rest is evil. Humanity’s first and foremost invention.
